    Boot Tree Fit and Finish

    This is a very nice, functional boot tree. It does its job well, as far as I can tell, but it does have some fit and finish 'quirks.' The boot tree arrived with some small cracks in the cedar and some chips missing near places where tooling, like drill bits, had made their cuts. These are not overtly visible and certainly do not seem to affect its functionality but for the price it would seem to me that a little more care in the fit and finish would be prudent. Overall, however, very satisfied.

    Just keep an eye on the size

    I purchased these for my redwing boots which are a full size smaller than my other shoes. I should have initally purchased my "normal" shoe size (the size up).

    Essential!

    I wasn't really aware that boot trees were a thing. I'd heard of shoe trees, and have been using them in my boots, only for the tops to sag over time. These are an obvious fix to my problem, and I don't know why I didn't seek them out before. The construction is great, and the cedar is extremely fragrant!

    Seems kind of small

    I bought the XL size which is rated for sizes 11-13. I’m using them in a 11eee Higgins boot and they just barely fill it out, if I had a 13 it wouldn’t be close. Size up

    Great boot trees

    These are a great value and are really well made. If you’re on the fence about getting boot trees and are on the fence about it, just get these! They hold the shape for all my boots really well.

    Look Great - Well Made - Run Small

    Great but trees! I've ordered 3 since they've been back in production again. There are few boot tree alternative on the market, and even less cedar boot trees. These are really well made and feel as if they will last a really long time. My only complaint is the narrow shaft and low vamp. I wear size 14 D and use these in pairs of Daltons, Carminas and Taft boots. These are actually some of the most narrow boots I own, but I wanted something to support the shaft of the boot from folding when not being worn. I ordered 2xl, and it actually fits more like a shoe tree. The heel of the shaft raises up enough that the knob protrudes nicely from the boot opening, but there is so much play in the circumference of the shaft opening that even when laced tight, the cedar doesn't fit snugly like I had hoped. I'm still satisfied with the product, but my wife has cedar inserts for her high boots which do a better job of supporting the shaft. I realised the shortcomings of this boot tree after my first purchase, but recently bought two more. Why? Well, there really isn't a better option in classic boot trees besides using a separate shaft insert. Mainly though, it's because these boss boot trees look great in the boots and really add to the aesthetics when they are displayed on the shelf. I'd probably buy them again, and if I could get something hefty enough for my Wesco Boots, I wouldn't mind opting for a heavy duty upgrade option.
