To be fair, the idea of a shoe horn was nothing new to me. I was fully aware of their existence and use, I just saw them as unnecessary. Having bought this particular shoe horn on a lark I now see that while it is still an unnecessary item it is indispensable when owned. It has served to ease a part of my daily routine that I wasn't aware could be easier and in that light I cannot recommend owning one enough.
I have had several of these and gave them away to people who couldn't bend to put shoes on. Just bought two more. The only drawback - It cost almost as much to ship them as they cost.
